# Umrah Packing List: What to Take from the UK

A practical checklist of documents, Ihram clothing, medicines and essentials for your Umrah journey.

**Quick answer:** Pack your passport and visa, Ihram clothing (two white sheets and a belt for men), comfortable sandals, unscented toiletries, any medicines in their original packaging, a small backpack, a refillable water bottle, a power bank and light, modest clothes. Keep valuables and medicines in your hand luggage.

## Documents

- Passport (valid for at least 6 months) and a photocopy.
- Visa, flight tickets and hotel vouchers (digital and printed).
- Travel insurance details and vaccination certificate if required.
- Nusuk app installed and registered.

## Ihram and clothing

- **Men:** two or three sets of Ihram sheets, an Ihram belt and safety pins.
- **Women:** loose, modest clothes in breathable fabric, and comfortable abayas.
- Light jumper for air-conditioned mosques and cooler winter evenings.
- Comfortable sandals and a shoe bag for carrying shoes inside the mosque.

## Health and toiletries

- Unscented soap, shampoo and deodorant for use in Ihram.
- Personal medicines with a copy of the prescription.
- Plasters, blister pads, pain relief and rehydration sachets.
- Vaseline or anti-chafing cream for long walks.
- Face masks for crowded areas.

## Useful extras

- Small backpack or cross-body bag.
- Power bank, UK to Saudi plug adapter (Saudi Arabia mainly uses the same type G plug as the UK, but an adapter is handy).
- Refillable water bottle for Zamzam.
- Pocket Qur'an, dua book and tasbih.
- Umbrella or cap for the sun, and sunglasses.

## What not to pack

- Scented products if you plan to use them in Ihram.
- Expensive jewellery and large amounts of cash.
